Access
Access Is…
- discipleship & outreach for 13-18 year olds
- time to enjoy God & one another
- growing in your knowledge of God’s ways
- sharing your faith with your peers in a different culture
- learning how to make a difference at home
Access is held in the summer at YWAM-Madison. You’ll have the opportunity to make friends with teens from across the US.
TRAINING: part one
Welcome to “bootcamp” at our training center just north of Madison. Bootcamp is practical teaching about who God is, His purposes for your life, and how to go deeper in your relationship with Him. It’s also having fun and hanging out together.
During bootcamp, you prepare for outreach. Outreach is applying what you learned in bootcamp by sharing it with others and learning to live like Jesus.
GOING: part two
The outreach activities are determined as the team prays together for the places we’ll go and the people we’ll meet.
In the past, we’ve done community projects, neighborhood clean-up, YWAM building projects; drama, African dance, and other performing arts; played soccer; street ministry including praying with people, face painting, and balloon animals….
- June 28 – July 8 — Access Teen Outreach to a Reservation in Oklahoma. This is open to middle and high school students, and families. The outreach is to a Native American community in Oklahoma. Ministry opportunities will be amongst at-risk youth, and serving the local church. The cost will be $450, plus driving costs.
- July 19 – August 2 — Access Outreach to the Dominican Republic. The outreach will go to the Dominican Republic. Ministry opportunities will include working with orphans and the poor, outcast Haitian immigrants near the capital city dump. There will also be opportunities to do evangelism amongst local youth as we partner with a popular Christian musician in the city. — college internships available, contact us!This is geared toward both high school and university students, and will be more intensive and challenging than the trip to Oklahoma.
LIVING
“I went to St. Lucia, listened and talked to people about God and shared my testimony. If I can do that hundreds of miles from my home, I can do it here. From going on Access I’m ready to face the challenges in High School because I know that God will be with me every step of the way.” — Access 2008 participant
By the time you return home, you’ll have new friends from across the country, confidence in who you are, and a closer relationship with God….not to mention, you did something that made a difference in someone else’s life.
